Description of class objectives
Create your own culture. Everyone exists in the cultures that exist in their immediate environment. We are affected by local state and national governmental culture, We are influenced greatly by social religious and family culture.that affects our daily lives.
So creating your own culture may be better stated as the process of thoroughly scrutinizing any and all cultural elements that affect oneself. Then making choices as to the ones to keep and develope and the ones to eliminate if possible or to manage their negative effects as best and as much as possible.
Since we live in an ever increasingly complicated world the Ambassadors of Culture cass will be focused on simplifying ones busy and for some chaotic life.The concepts examined will be presented in a basic and simple manner so that one can explore them further and deeper on a personal basis as one desires.

Your own personal thoughts and observations as to the existing cultural elements that affect you. Including good things and the not so good things. I like to start with a large piece of paper at least 12” x 18”. Then around the periphery of the paper I list each category of what cultural entities that I am affected and or influenced by. (see illustration below) This exercise becomes your visual mind map to visualize and structure your own cultural choices. This is not a one time exercise. It works best as an ongoing work in progress.It works in the immediate time frame to evaluate your present thoughts and feelings and works for future checks and balances of your cultural goals and achievements The class observations, sketching and art field trips will assist one in directing thoughts about your cultural lifestyle in a satisfying interesting and fun way.
