From STEM to STEAM to STREAM?
STEM stands for Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics. There is a movement afoot to turn that acronym into STEAM by adding the Arts.
STEM to STEAM to STREAM :adds wRiting as an Essential Component of the whole educational equation.
Communication, Writing mastery is essential to STEM learning and innovating.
Educators realize that the skills required by innovative STEM professionals include arts and crafts thinking. Visualizing, recognizing and forming patterns, modeling and getting a "feel" for systems.
The skills required and acquired in the use of tools is also an essential part of the STREAM education model.
My mentoring classes and workshops are in startup mode. I will be conducting some free workshops at the East Millcreek Library complex in Salt Lake City on various aspects of the nuts and bolts of building your own individual plan incorporating the skills mentioned above.
I offer individual mentoring at a nominal charge for both adults and guardian and child as well as the free workshops I conduct on STREAM education
